Gardens  Dalemain Cumbria. The walled garden and terrace have many rare plants and together over 100 old-fashioned roses. There are also some old Walnut trees, some fine Spanish Chestnuts and a 200 year old Tulip tree.

Newby Hall and Gardens North Yorkshire  One of Susan’s favourite corners of here is the delightful, slightly sunken ‘Sylvia’s Garden’

Levens Hall Cumbria. A magical topiary garden with ‘Alice in Wonderland’ shapes to enchant romantics of any age.

Fountains Abbey, North Yorkshire. The spectacular ruin of a 12th-century Cistercian abbey, an Elizabethan mansion and one of the best surviving examples of a Georgian water garden and a deer park.
Monet's famous water garden Monet’s Garden at Giverny. This garden is always perfect, tended by many hands to maintain a perfect living Monet painting  for the millions who visit.
Admission is restricted on Mondays to Artists
and photographers avoiding the crush of all other days!
Susan and her friends did this, but were still fallen over - by accident or design - by members of the army of gardeners rushing about making everything perfect.
