Susan
and John discovered this subject when visiting Auvers. They had looked around the village - and found Dr. Gachet's house - and the Church Vincent painted so fluidly and with such colour - and were making their way up the lane toward the cemetery. They were passing the Wheatfield that Vincent painted against the light, when they saw the horse, looking like a player resting between scenes in a fairytale. Susan worked from three separate photographs as well as memory to produce this painting. in watercolour and gouache. Image size is 345mm x 378mm €
