Susan
and John discovered this subject when visiting Auvers. They had looked around the village, found Dr. Gachet's house - and
the
Church Vincent had painted so fluidly and with such colour, and had
'done' the very
good impressionists display in the nearby Chateaux and were making
their way up
the lane toward the cemetery - past the Wheatfield Vincent Van Goch had
painted
against the light - and there it was - The Horse, looking like a player
resting between scenes in a fairytale. Susan worked from three seperate photographs as well as memory to produce this painting in watercolour and bodycolour. Image size is 345mm x 378mm €
