'The Conversation' seen but not overheard
by John Ridyard Artist / Illustrator / Publisher
This tryptic painting was inspired by a scene in Sillot - Majorca. She may have been asking about her A level results, or just saying hello, or requesting more money - you decide.
The subject for this triple painting presented itself one evening when we were on the island of Majorca.

I was on my way back to our Sillot apartment after a late evening trip to the supermacado, and there she was - in the street below - making these and other expressive shapes as she at first talked and then listened.

The painting is three individual studies made using Acrylic based pigments on heavy watercolour paper. Each panel is 38cm deep.
